VW Buses n Boats Bash
Morrow, Ohio

The Ohio Valley Tribe of the Full Mon Bus Club would like to invite you out to our 8th Annual VW Buses 'n Boats camping and canoeing event this May 16-18, 2008 in Morrow, Ohio (near Cincinnati).

We will be camping right on the banks of the Nationally Dedicated Scenic Little Miami River, and I do mean RIGHT on the banks. The campground is secluded and beautiful. The weekend will feature VW bus camping, a 6 mile canoe trip on the scenic Little Miami River (optional), a "Cincinnati Style" chili dinner on Saturday evening. Of course there will be live music picking and singing the hole weekend, world famous Full Moon Bus Club breakfast burritos, and fires, big fires, REALLY big fires (after all, we are the only VW bus club that brings at least 4 firemen to every campout!!!! Really, it's true!). Of course, the Buses n Boats Bash is family friendly (at least BEFORE 10:00 pm) so bring the kids and the dogs for a great weekend filled with Mid-western hospitality. Here's the link with MUCH more info and pix from the past:

Hope to see you there!

PEACE!

All air cooled VW's welcome
Huge swap and for sale area, pass in reviews highlighting participating VWs. This is a new date for our event, as it has been held in May in years past.
Go to http://www.mvvc.net for updates on the show as they become available.

For questions, edk@mvvc.net.

Also see the website photo gallery section for pictures of previous years shows. Sponsors include Mid America Motorworks, Air Head Parts, Karmann Ghia Parts & Restoration and Volkswagen of America. This is the show that draws spectators from both coasts. Join us in 08 and see why!
Last year this show was presented as a non-judged event just to get together for the fun of it.  They had a nice gift bag and tee shirt for the price of admission.  The park is very shaded and a nice place for a swap meet and car show.  If you choose to walk a few blocks, there is a quaint car museum open during the show and a firefighter museum close by.  The car museum bills itself as the only Hudson dealership still in existence.
This show is worth the ride to Michigan.

VW Type 3 Invation 2008
Ypsilanti, Michigan

Get all the details at : http://www.carartbyjohn.com/2008Invasion/

Since the Type 3 is one of the orphans of the VW world, this is a get together for Type 3's only. You are welcome to come and see all the various Type 3's, including possibly some even more rare T-34's, but T-1's and T-2's are not 'invited' to the Invasion as such. We hope you will understand.

Please remember what the original focus of the Type 3 Invasions is... Show up at a smallish town, meet other Type 3 people with a common interest, enjoy building a kindred bond with said other people, enjoy
each others company and cars, maybe even learn something new at one of the tech sessions, and most of all, just relax! The Invasion is NOT a judged car show. Just a friendly gathering.

Hope to see you and yours there !

Visit the Shawshank reformatory and watch a showing of The Shawshank Redemption.
The movie is creepy when viewed at the location where it was filmed!  The old pealing paint on the walls , the cold hard steel cells make you wonder what personal soul searching these men had while spending numerous hours locked in the small cage-like cells.  There are many tours offered and are worth the time!  This was one interesting car show!

The streets downtown will be closed for this event between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to allow Volkswagen enthusiasts to take ownership of the downtown area. Due to the overwhelming success of this event; KDA has approved additional “Cruise-In” parking closer to the stage and main event! So, let’s not disappoint them – LET’S FILL THE STREETS!

This will be the 4th annual Roger S. Wright Memorial VW Cruise-In for Kokomo’s Oktoberfest. This is a fun atmosphere for Volkswagen enthusiasts to come together and share their passion for the world’s greatest automotive success – The Volkswagen. All models of Volkswagens are welcomed! We will have goody bags for every participant and unbelievable door prizes! So, mark your calendars now! Come and enjoy live German music, great German food and much - much more. Last but not least, put on your danc’n shoes and get ready to Polka like you have never Polka’d before!

Then, “head’m up and move’m out” for a 30 - mile cruise, to the “Duck Tail Run;” one of the most incredible car shows in the Midwest. This event last year was an absolute blast! As always, the special event at the “Duck Tail Run” will be the ~ Flame Throwing Contest! If you have never witnessed this event, it is one that would make a pyromaniac drool! You will quickly see why it is known as one of the “Coolest” car shows in the Midwest.

We are very fortunate to have our events coincide and expect this to be another great time for all participants. This will be a week-end packed with Volkswagens, Hot Rods and Customs. If you plan on spending a night(s) in Kokomo for the Oktoberfest, Fairmount’s James Dean Festival or Gas City’s Duck Tail Run, you will need to make your reservations early.
